Where there are significant concerns about the practice of legal practitioners, the FAS may refer the concern to the Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner for investigation.
The FAS may also refer concerns to the Health Complaints Commissioner under the Health Complaints Act 2016 or a relevant regulatory body (such as AHPRA) in relation to a health professional. For example, concerns may relate to the amount charged by a medical expert or counselling service if the amount is considered grossly excessive, or if there is a suggestion that a practitioner is re-using professional reports.
